School Year 2018/19

Autumn semester: 20 August – 19 December 2018

Spring semester: 3 January - 13 July 2019

Next intake for year 2019/2020 is 19 August 2019

This is our fourth year as a church-based bible college. The evaluations and experiences from the first two years have helped to bring even better content!

Start of the year

The first week is an introduction to the school, the teachers, our values, the city, the local church, practicalities, etc. Immediately on the first Friday we take part in ‘Kulturnatten’, a yearly event in the town centre.  The following week we’ll be on boot camp,

Trips abroad

England
Already in the second week we go on 'bootcamp', this time to Woking, London. We shall be part of 'ACTS conference', a European leadership conference within the Apostolic network. It is a way of getting to know each other, be inspired and learn from their church culture and from leaders who build growing, relevant churches all over the globe.
This trip is included in the fees.

Israel
Towards end of October/beginning of November we will go on a study trip to Israel for approx. 10 days. Israel and the many historical places are central in understanding the bible. It will help to understand the context of the bible, Israel as a nation and even our own history. Furthermore, we will meet with churches and organizations and thereby get a broader understanding of what God is doing in Israel today.
This trip will require extra payment.

Third world countries
In March 2019 we travel to different third world countries. Our partners are in both Asia and Africa. Through meetings with very different cultures the students will get a deeper understanding of the global world. It is a unique opportunity to learn to express the Gospel and God's love in a different context. Furthermore, it opens the perspective for how different the living conditions can be, and still we have a lot in common as human beings and as Christians.

Teachers

The teachers at the school consist of both the daily staff and guest lecturers from Denmark and abroad. Most subjects are taught by the school’s own teachers but from time to time guest lecturers come in and give us their best. They either teach separate subjects or in continuation of the ongoing subjects. Typically, guest lecturers will teach two days at a time.
Some days will be reserved for prayer, fasting and reflection. Or a subject is given full attention through out a week.

The subjects are all meant to continue lifelong learning, enabling you to pass on the knowledge you gain here. We also believe in the supernatural dimension being normal for a Christian life. Therefore, we cultivate the supernatural in many ways throughout the year.

Church involvement – hands on

On top of the daily teaching at the school, all students are involved in church ministry in the local apostolic church, Kirkeibyen or the church the student comes from. It is a great opportunity to turn theory into practice, to get to know more people and not least to learn from those already leading different areas in the church. It is a chance to work with your greatest interest, whether it’s kids, teens, social work, planning of events, etc.
During the year there will also be opportunities to visit other churches and youth groups.

And much more

Furthermore, we will have theme weeks and seminar days that are open for participation (by registration).
We will spend a number of Sundays visiting other churches and sharing about the school, and about what God is doing in our lives.
Other than that, of course, we go to the beach, to cafes, attend youth events, meet missionaries and much more.
